cap/roof brick barbeque smoker/fireplace

Hello I am having some serious trouble trying to figure out how to cap or roof a barbeque smoker. I know the layout I want and it will end up being brike finish on the top, the problem is every plan I have seen shows in very good detail how to build every bit of the smoker up to the roof or capping part. I am clueless in this subject and any help would be very much appreciated.
