Hi you having fun? Not yet? You will!!
Having just experienced a situation
similar to yours I think I can speak
from experience. Depending upon what
the paneling is made of will dictate
to what extreme you will have to take.
If it is paper laminate, make sure of the
patency of the surface to extensive moisture. Meaning after having moisture
applied to it will it delaminate. If it
is wood and stained their becomes a different issue all together wood and stain look great but they bleed something fierce through latex paint. Kilz makes an excellent latex primer, you can have it back-tinted to a 3/4
shade of your final tint. It will take
2-3 coats so plan for the paint and the
patience involved.

Have fun, don't skimp on the paint!!
