Cutting a metal entry door to add glass.......

Is it possible to retrofit glass lites into a solid metal door?
The door is paneled so I was thinking that you could cut the panel part away and frame the hole for glass lites.
We have non-standard double entry doors, and really don't want to spend a ton of money on wood doors.
No fiberglass or metal doors can be found in our size.
We have no windows on that side of the house, and I would love some light through the doors.
