rotted floor joist

Bathroom leak rotted floor joist. Rotted area removed from joist, adjoining areas treated with timbor. Planning on sistering new joist. BUT, heat pipe in my way. Pipe was run correctly thru old joist in center. I cant sister around pipe without cutting notch half way thru new member.I assume that the rules for cutting sistered joists are the same regarding depth. Anybody with any ideas?
