Experts,

Both the oven and the broiler of my Hotpoint gas range won’t heat, although the cook top burners work fine. I’ve read about the oven gas shutoff valve being off or the igniter gone bad. The owner’s manual tries to illustrate where the valve is and points to the right-rear area under the cook top. I removed the cook top and, maybe I’m confused, but nothing resembling their picture is there.

I’ve also read that if the igniter doesn’t glow of or doesn’t draw the correct amps, it’s likely dead. I’d like to do this but don’t know exactly how to get to it and test the amps with my meter, which has the 2 probes. I assume the igniter/burner are beneath the oven floor, but would like a diagram showing how to get there.

I also can’t find the specific model number on the unit. The manual manual only shows RBG744 and RGB745.

Advice? Thanks,
Gary Suddeth (gvmbear@aol.com)
