Vinyl stair treads

Need some help.
I just sanded and stained my hallways stairs, used
Minwax® PolyShades®.
Stairs are 36" wide by 12" depth.

I want to glue vinyl stair threads, 10.5" x 24",
Can someone tell me what is the best adhesive to use, I don't want to nail or staple to the stairs.
