my walls are sided with pine clapboards over studs and housewrap - no sheathing. Walls are insulated with r-21 fiberglass. Aside from taking off all the siding is there some solution for remedying the large amount of outside air infiltration into my insulation? I considered sealing all the joints and overlaps but understand that the overlaps need to breathe. Do they still require this when there is no sheathing? The sheathing is more or less "sealed" anyway, right? Incidentally, the clapboards are not tapered and are a full inch thickness. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
