Hump in Second Level Floor

Posted by army54dad on January 25th, 2008 08:30 PM

We just bought a 24 year old split level home in NC. As the house has settled, the cement slab in the basement has not. The manufactured support beam in the basement that supports the "upstairs" level has created a hump in the floor upstairs. Any ideas on how to 'dehump' the second level? The support posts are a type of screw jack and could be lowered, but what type of problems would I be creating for myself if I did that? Thanks.
