Painting brick

Posted by wecker20 on January 28th, 2008 10:30 AM

I'm re-modeling our 100+ year old farm house and the wife wants to leave a red brick chimney exposed if we can get it to look nice. It had plaster directly attatched. I have most of it off but now need to clean it up with I'm thinking a wire brush. There was a repair job done to it so the last 4 layers of brick are a different color. Anyway of painting the brick and mortar to look like it's restored? This chimney does not get hot, only the hot water heater is using it.

Thanks.
