We redid our kitchen last year and absolutely love it except there is one small issue that I don't know how to solve - hoping for some guidance - with the under cabinet lighting off everything looks perfect. When the under cabinet lighting is on and it's night time the light shines thru very tiny hairline gaps between the light rail moulding and the bottom of the top cabinets. I find it very annoying and opt not to use the lights which sort of defeats their purpose - my husband says the trim needs to be screwed more tightly to the cabinet but the screws seem awfully tight to me already. Do I caulk from behind with a wood putty? Do I hire a finish carpenter to carefully frame out the trim from the back side so it blocks the light? Not sure how to solve this issue. Note that I opted to use the light strips the cabinet maker suggested with their light rail trim as opposed to having finished bottoms with puck lights that get so hot.
