Our house is 40 years old and gas furnace about 25 years old.
We have a galvanized steel vent pipe running from the furnace through the inside walls on first and second floor out through the roof.
We noticed that the wall which contains a vent pipe on the first floor is warm when the furnace is on, but wall on the second floor from the floor to the ceiling extremely hot, and very hot to the touch.
Is there a simple explanation for this, and possible fix.
