I just finished building my home as an owner-builder. The windows I used are Milgard vinyl. The window in the front room is 4-6x9-0 with sliders on each end. My problem is that the fixed panel in the center leaks at the seam where it meets the frame at the top. The factory claims the windows are only rated to be water tight at up to 40mph winds. However, they do rate them for up to 115mph for air infiltration. This window faces south, the direction storms come from. I can make this window leak if I use a garden hose with a nozzle and spray at the seam. None of the other windows leak when I spray them. I have never had windows leak like this and I have always used a nozzle on the hose to clean my windows.
