I want to add an upper railing portico to our home. I want one historically accurate, yet maintenance free. I realize this means using some other material than wood. I live in a rural community in KY which means I have difficulty locating contractors who know what I am talking about. I have spent days searching the internet and cannot find plans or instructions on how to build one or even a good picture of one to show a contractor. Please help. I want diagrams or pictures or anything that would help!
