** Kenmore 70 series dryer model # 66702692 **

The complete model number looks to be 110.66702692 making it a Whirlpool built electric dryer.

** runs fine but will not heat and end of cycle signal will not stop buzzing. What's the problem **

You may have several different problems. You can read about possibilities for a no heat condition in an electric dryer at the following link. Each would have to be looked into one at a time to rule each out.

- Can anybody tell me the most likely scenarios for lack of heat in an electric dryer?

I don't have a wiring diagram for your model but the buzzer staying on could be caused by a problem in the timer (see the following link) or possibly a short in the dryer's wiring. Someone would need to look at the machine's wiring diagram to see which timer contacts are for the buzzer and check them to see if they were permanently closed.

BTW. The heater is also switched by the timer so it being defective in multiple ways could also possibly be responsible for the heating problem.
