How do you know the basement only leaks when you have a heavy rain? How do you know the leak isn't always there?
Definitely, get at least 3 estimates on fixing the leak. Beware that you may get 3 widely varying opinions on what needs to be done. And you will probably get a wide range of estimates, say $3k to $10K.
