Since you don't have a friend at city hall, you can get a copy of the National Electrical Code and other building codes at :

It is better to read the code and follow the requirements than to get a number from someone living in another area. If you can not understand the book to read the table to get the right wire sizes, breakers and equipment, you would be safer to let an electrician guarantee the work. The added knowledge gives you the opportunity to approach responsible people in your area to serve on an inpection and code committee to save lives in your area.
