Pressed wood drawer parts

In reply to Wood Lubricant by Hank Metz- A woodworker's Notebook on September 11th, 1998 04:19 PM [Go to top of thread]

I am assembling a drawer made of pressed wood sides and a back.

When I attempt to slide the drawer back into the grooves of the drawer sides it is very difficult to do without force. The back must be pushed until the edges of the back are even with the sides.

In order to avoid splintering or breakage of the parts, will lubricants such as bees wax, candle or soap help make it easier and avoid damage?

Are there better methods than the above? Thanks in advance for you comments.
