Yeap. I just built a brand new deck 6mths ago and I stained only the spindles and railings NOT the floor boards.

Solely for the reason I want it to sit for a few more months and let the color fade out a little more.. Some floor boards are darker when wet.

I stained it one coat of Red Cedar. I's happier with one coat this time.

Question is: Should I do the floor boards red cedar too or can I use a clear??
