minor water drainage in yard

I'm not sure if this is the right area to post a landscape drainage question, so please redirect me if not. anyway, I have a cement patio that collects water in a corner by side of my house that I want to divert. it's right near my lawn, so my idea is to divert it over to the lawn, and lead it to a drain that connects to a buried pipe going to a spot far away out in my yard. I would consider my soil to have very good draining properties overall, so I'm not too concerned about what it does once it gets away from my foundation. Every thing I read about french drains or the like always show it with the end of the pipe exposed, somewhere like the street, or a part of the lot that is low. I have a very flat lot, so that's not an option. I'd like to just have the pipe end underground. I guess my long winded question is, is that acceptable? I will use a perforated pipe, and line the ditch with rock, and then dig a hole at the end at fill with rock. Again, with decent draining soil, should this work? thanks for any help!
