!Be sure thermostat is on low setting and main gas supply to furnace is on!
1. Turn gas control knob to "off" position.
2.wait 5-10 minutes for any gas to clear. smell around furnace for gas. if u smell gas, go to another building and call the gas company or fire dept, otherwise follow these steps.
3.turn control knob to "pilot" position, then Locate ur pilot light. light a match or long BIC and hold it to pilot. push in gas control knob or reset button and pilot light should ignite.
4.hold button or knob for about 60 seconds then release. if thermocouple does not maintain a flame, repeat these steps, other wise turn control knob to "on" position, replace all covers, and turn thermostat to desired setting.
