house humidity for flooring

Your house should stay in a range of 45 to 55 % . Should this raise or lower is okay, but to much one way or the other is not though. To dry your wood will get brittle and damage easily. To humid it will swell up, and in worst cases buckle up. In best it will gap when it dries back out. Also most people are more satisfied when using a sand on site wood product vs. a prefinish product. The cost is only slightly higher, but the quality it extreamly higher, as well as longevity of the floor. Dont be fooled by a salesman. Good luck on your flooring.
