I have a Genie Screw Drive garage door opener model 12A. When I hit the opener it works for a couple of seconds then stops (the light on the opener also turns off). A short while later the light goes back on, and the opener will work again (briefly). Each time the garage door only moves a few feet. I've replaced the wire from the opener to the main unit, but no changes. Will a new switch (where you hit the button to open the door) help?
