I have 2 dehumidifiers that I have set on 40%. I run a fan in the basement all the time, and I keep the temp. around 65 deg. F.

After working well for 3 or 4 years, both started freezing up this winter/spring. Ice builds up on top of the cabinets. They are enclosed entirely by their cabinets. No coils are exposed.

Does this indicate they need to be replaced, or is there a work around for this problem.

The basement was very dry this winter, and I hardly needed to empty them at all.

Any ideas?
