I've never heard of a dehumidifier frosting *outside* its cabinet but I do not know which specific model(s) of LG dehumidifiers you have nor how they were designed. There is likely a lot more going on inside the cabinet.

Maybe because they were not functioning properly??

Someone will likely have to look into what is going on *inside* their cabinet.
