I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number.

** It does not remove food from dishes at all. **
Is it at least filling with water? Is the detergent being washed away?
What is the exact conditions of the dishes (eg. totally untouched, just some food left on them, just food particles, etc.?)
Can you hear the motor running?
** Anything I need to remove and clean? **
Probably not depending on the design of the model in question but there could possibly be a strainer near the sump (lowest part of the tub).
