Angled sillcock stem assembly removal

Posted by skolemnity on May 13th, 2008 11:09 AM

This post from last August describes my issue exactly:

The first reply was very helpful:

However, when I try to remove the stem assembly, the hex is so tight (it's never been removed) that I'm concerned I'll either strip it or break the sillcock in some other way. I'm trying to get the assembly out so I can put in a new washer to stop a leak.

Any suggestions on how to approach such a tight assembly? Thanks...
