We have the very same issue with our Sears door. We can't even get another door handle to fit because of the width and design of the door. Most handles only fit doors up to 1 1/4", our door is 1 1/2". We have tried to special order a handle, but no luck. We have been told to buy a new door!! This is too bad because it is a very nice door and we paid alot of money for it.
