My unit was first installed October of 2000, so it is under 8 years old, two years ago it quit and I considered replacing it as I had heard about problems with the Complete Heat furnaces, I liked the unit and found a company that said they could repair it, replacing the circulating cartridge and the igniter. It worked just fine for two years , but now it is having problems with shutting down and hard to restart, the limit switch needs to be reset each time and it keeps coming back with the Watchguard error and the top of the tank is very over heated, the water steams as it comes out of the tap.
It has shut down 6 times since it was examined in March. If i get it started it seems to run just fine for a while. I cannot trust it next winter. I have lost confidence in the unit since it takes many attempts to restart it i have been resetting the unit all morning and have not had it running since early this morning.I suspect it could be the wiring harness or computer board. wiggling the wires has solve the starting problem for now will clean and tighten the contacts and see if that restores it to reliable operation.
