garge door opener problem

I have 3 remotes for my Genie garage door opener.
One is brand new. They only work AFTER I have used the wall mount switch to open or close the door. Then after an hour or so the remotes stop working the door.
I have changed the batteries and cleaned the photo electic eyes. I changed the code.
STILL the remotes will not work the door UNLESS I have recently used the wall mount switch.
I have unplugged the power cord for the opener and replugged it in, hours later. Nothing has worked.
