Hi Lisa. I had a modular with the same walls. Here is what was suggested to me. I was told the walls are vinyl covered wall board. A painter suggested there is a special primer you can use. It is for vinly covered wall board. Then he said just to paint as usual. I never got to do this because I have since sold the house. maybe try some in a closet for a test first? I am sure the paint store will have ideas for you. Hope this helps Marlene
