When the HM30 worked it was a dream; constant hot water and all. We live in Ohio and when our HM30 started acting up, it could be a real pain - my wife took a couple cold showers in February before I discovered the pump cartridge solution. There were times when we woke up and the house was cooled below 50F overnight.

So your question; straight electrical and 2" pvc air intake and exhaust connections? Yes! The Vertex is a condensing unit and, as a result, the exhaust is designed to work with the 2" pvc pipe - I used the original HM30 piping and it works well; a lot of water does get created by the Vertex!

By the way, if you have some concerns that the basic Vertex heat input of 76KBTU might be marginal for your needs, there is now a 100KBTU model made by AOS called the Vertex 100.

Best regards
