We recently signed a contract with a local builder. The home will be finished in Approx. 1 1/2 months. After the builders had his contracted roofers put up the tar paper a storm came and blew off most of the paper. When they came back to put on the shingles they did not replace the tar paper. The neighbors told us they saw the roofers do this. The builder refuses to check to see if this is true, and refuses to replace the roof and will not give us anything in writing to guarantee the roof. He has offered to build us another house on another lot and let us know that roofers are trouble and the same thing could happen again. We like this lot, it is level and they are hard to find here in Alabama. How serious is this problem? Should consider not buying this particular home? Thanks, Michelle Smith
