Drainage water in crawl space

We are under contract to buy a home. The home is only three years old and last week a hard rain put at least 2" of water into the crawl space. The owners are removeing the water with pumps and used the excuse the sprinklers were left on also. I am very wary now that I might be buying a problem. Should I be concerned about this? What are the consequences of moisture being in the crawl space?
