Moldzyme cleaner is a nontoxic cleaner that uses plant enzymes to remove mildew and its smell without harsh chemicals. Seems to work well, time will tell if it really eliminated the problem. For Carpet you can mist the carpet to dampness, or better yet use it in a carpet shampooer.
