Water Droplets on Bedroom Ceiling Posted by the13thbaktun on October 28th, 2008 12:07 PM

Hi,
I am having a very severe problem with condensation in my bedroom. Whenever it gets cold outside, water droplets appear on the east side of the ceiling and end up dripping all over the floor.
My bedroom has north and east exposures with windows on both of those walls. I do not have a bathroom attached to my bedroom but I am on the other side of our master bath.
From where is the source of this condensation coming, and how do I deal with it? There have been ridge/soffit vents installed into the eaves outside, so I am failing to see how my room's attic space is not adequately ventilated.
The current weather has been neither rainy nor snowy and most definitely not icy (we've had problems with ice damming in the past).
I'd also like to note that the same issue with water droplets on the ceiling appears in the master bath; there is no exhaust fan in that bathroom.
Any suggestions as to what I can do, or at least let me know if this problem is serious enough to warrant a contractor coming in to fix the problem? Any and all help is most definitely wanted!!! Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
