While the solvents that Chris mentions are good, they might be a little stronger than you need. I always think you should use the LEAST powerful solvent first to try to avoid possible "collateral damage". I believe that the standard solvent for common asphaltic regular old paint thinner. Use this first to minimize potential reactions and wash after with dishwashing soap and warm water (Dawn is the best for oil and turps).
