Thanks- and I am not too worried about this sump backing up when used for just rain as it is a back up one that rarely goes on as I have another sump in the utility room that goes on when it rains hard. I just think that the force of the wash water when it empties is what makes the float "stick"- don't think it would happen with occasional use from super heavy rains if this one goes on
