Programming a Garage Door Opener Help??

My garage door opener remote fell apart. I was able to get another one that is the same exact model but it won't work. Is there a way to program it so it will open my garage door? It is a Sears Craftsman Garage Door Opener model 139.53681B. It only has three buttons on it so there is no place to put in a number or anything. I keep it in my car to open the garage when coming home from work. Any info would be greatly appreciated :)
