Cupping is not the result of a defective product, but rather a wood floor product that has not been acclimatized properly or one that is exposed to excessive moisture.
Cupping can occur if the product has been installed over a concrete floor or in a basement where insufficient measures have been taken to reduce moisture levels.
As the wood absorbs moisture, it swells, and the swelling become evident at the seams where the wood grain pushing up.
Your solution may be to reduce moisture in your home by adjusting a humidifier on a furnace, not running unvented gas heaters, or running a dehumidifier to reduce moisture. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
