Does it blink nonstop or in some discernible pattern (eg. blink twice, pause, blink twice, repeat, etc.)?
A continually flashing/blinking indicator would usually indicate that the button of the control panel corresponding to that function is 'stuck' (aka 'shorted'). In such a case replacing the control panel (see the following link) is usually required to correct the condition.
