Rockwool insulation

Posted by jpsipesjr@comcast.net on November 29th, 2008 07:47 AM

We recently bought a house that was built in 1928. The attic has many 3'x4'x2" panels of what appears to be rockwool insulation. There is probably enough for me to spread them across the attic floor and insulated, but I don't know if it's safe or not.
What can you tell me about rockwool insulation?
How do I tell if its rockwool insulation?
I do I fasten it to the ceiling?
Can I then cover it with drywall to make it safe to walk on?
