Hello all

I have the remains of an old brick fireplace in my basement. (the fireplace was actually on the first floor) So what I really have in my basement is a 6 foot square column of bricks. This column is structurally sound but some of the bricks on one side are spalling off and leaving little bits on the floor. This was due to the previous owner not having a proper chimney cap. My question is this:

Is there a way to seal these spalling bricks so they stop flaking off onto the floor?

Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
