Poor water flow in new shower head

We had a plumber install a new shower head and value system in our master bath. The old system had plenty of pressure, it had a handle for Hot and another for Cold. The new one has a single handle - is that where the restrictor valve is placed? I do not see a restrictor in the shower head and I need to figure out how to increase the water flow.
