I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number ("70 series" isn't it). If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.

** Everything seems to function except for heat. **

A first step in diagnosing heating problems in gas dryers is observing what the gas burner's ignitor is doing (eg. glowing continuously, not at all, cycling on and off repeatedly, etc.). If you report that (along with the model number) someone might be able to suggest likely possibilities.
