then the ice maker thinks the bin is full. Normally there is a locked upper position so you can remove the ice bin for parties or whatnot. The paddle should be in the lower position where it moves freely. That way the ice maker knows it's supposed to make ice. Also make sure the bin is in the right position and fully seated because the ice maker is off if the bin is out. There's some sort of switch or interlock on the back wall to sense the bin. If the ice maker thinks the bin is out it won't work either.
