Soundproofing Posted by bkliesen on December 10th, 2008 06:12 PM
My parents have a new house, constructed in 2003. It has a full basement and is about 2800sf (half of which is the basement).
My parents are old, deaf and loud. The TV is blaring and they often tromp around in the morning and any guests in the basement bedrooms can only assume that a herd of elephants are passing through or that they are playing volleyball while wearing skiboots.
Any suggestions on how to deaden the sound from room to room or between main floor and basement? The basement is completely dry walled.
I realise that this should have been thought of before construction, but as my parents are loud and deaf, they don't care.
Thanks,
