There are different types of 100% silicone caulk, the ones specifically made for bathrooms and kitchens are labeled as such, and ones designed for exterior applications say so on the packaging.

Unfortunately home centers tend to stock all the silicone caulks next to each other on the shelf, and few of their personnel know the difference between the products, so consumers frequently make their choice based on color.

Exterior caulks have additives that resist UV, bathroom/kitchen caulks have additives that resist mold and mildew.
DON'T use exterior caulks in a bathroom or kitchen, use the white or clear bathroom version and you should get MANY years of good results.
