the fall of that pipe is 1 inch in 25 feet. imagine that on a slab. the water flow is very slow.
and in winter it is trying to travel 600 feet along a pipe that is frozen colder than the freezer in your house.
there is no "no-thaw" zone (aka permafrost) in Minnesota. I suspect you meant "no-frost" zone, below the frostline.
