Is your roof system framed with trusses?

If so, what you are experiencing is likley not caused by 'the wind', but rather 'truss uplift'...a phenomenon that causes the ends or trusses to raise up due to changes in temperature and humidity in the wood.

To correct the situation, fasten the crown molding ONLY to the trusses at the top...and do not fasten (or caulk) the molding to the wall nor at its lower edge.

This will allow the truss (and the molding) to raise and lower without restriction...silently...and without the need to recaulk ever again.
