tile in steam room

I just built, the contractor did, a new house, approximateley a year old, and we built a steam room in the master bedroom area. One of the floor tiles is starting to show "browning" and is spreading from the edge of the tile towards the middle of the tile. It is just occurring on one tile and that tile is against the wall and the "browning" is spreading from the wall to the center of the tile. The browning cannont be just cleaned off with soap and water and feels corrosive to the touch, kind of like rust, but there is really no smell to it. I cannot find anything about what this can be or how to correct. Any suggestions what this can be and how can fix? Thank you.
